NORFOLK, Va. — Dominique Elliott of Maryland Eastern Shore was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, the conference announced today. Devin Morgan, of Delaware State, earned Rookie of the Week honors, while Howard’s Marcel Boyd was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Elliott (C, 6-8, 260, Sr., Savannah, Ga.) shot 63-percent (15-of-24) from the floor and 83-percent (10-of-12) from behind the arc for 40 points in conference wins over Howard and Hampton. He registered a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds in 28 minutes of play against Howard.
Morgan (G, 5-11, 180, Fr., Chester, Va.) finished with 27 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and two steals, against Cheyney and Bethune-Cookman. He scored 15 points, including a career-high five 3-pointers, in 26 minutes of action against Bethune-Cookman.
Boyd (C, 6-11, 225, Jr., Accokeek, Md.) averaged 15.0 rebounds, 3.5 blocks and 2.0 steals against Maryland Eastern Shore and Norfolk State. He grabbed 13 boards, three blocks and two steals, against Maryland Eastern Shore. Offensively, he recorded his seventh double-double of the season, with 12 points and 17 rebounds, against Norfolk State.

Jordan Butler (NSU) finished with nine points, seven rebounds and one block, in a 99-92 double-overtime win over Howard.
James Daniel, III (HOW) averaged 31.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.0 steal against Maryland Eastern Shore and Norfolk State.
Quinton Forrest (B-CU) totaled 17 points, four rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal, in wins over Savannah State and Delaware State.
Ahmad Frost (UMES) finished with 18 points, 10 assists and one steal, in conference victories over Howard and Hampton.
Dante Holmes (NCCU) averaged 20.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals, against Florida A&M and North Carolina A&T State.
Christian Kessee (CSU) scored a career-high 27 points, including six 3-pointers, against South Carolina State.
Alex Long (NSU) registered 12 points, three rebounds, two assists and one steal, in the win over Howard.
Jordan Potts (B-CU) shot 60-percent (6-of-10) from the field for 21 points, including four 3-pointers, in a 62-59 win over Savannah State.
Jeff Short (NSU) tallied 18 points, three rebounds and three assists, in the double-overtime win against Howard.
LaRon Smith (B-CU) posted a double-double of 10 points and 15 rebounds, including two assists and five blocks, in the 85-56 win over Delaware State.
Ed Stephens (SCSU) poured in 23 points, with six 3-pointers, on 8-of-11 shooting, against Coppin State.
C.J. Wiggins (NCCU) shot 71-percent (5-of-7) from the floor for 10 points, in an 81-63 win over Florida A&M.
