DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Savannah State University women’s basketball team (6-14, 3-6 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) rally fell short on the road to Bethune-Cookman University (13-9, 7-2 MEAC) 50-44 Tuesday night in Moore Gymnasium.
Junior center Tiyonda Davis led the Lady Tigers with 10 points on 5-for-8 shooting, 10 rebounds and seven blocks, while junior guard Rhianna Warren added 10 points and three rebounds.
Junior guard Kenyata Hendrix added nine points and three rebounds, while sophomore guard Lauryn Fields added seven points on 2-for-4 shooting and junior forward Jeremica Edwards added four points and six rebounds.
Bethune-Cookman was led by Kendra Cooper with 16 points on 5-for-7 shooting, Kailyn Williams with a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds and Jasmine Knowles with 10 points and seven rebounds.
