NORFOLK, Va. — James Daniel, III of Howard and Dominique Elliott of Maryland Eastern Shore were named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Co-Players of the Week, the conference announced today. Devin Morgan, of Delaware State, earned Rookie of the Week honors, while Howard’s Marcel Boyd was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Daniel (G, 5-10, 175, Jr., Hampton, Va.) shot 50-percent (8-of-16) from behind the arc and 66-percent (8-of-12) from the free-throw line, for 58 points, against Florida A&M and Hampton. He poured in 35 points, including six 3-pointers, in 39 minutes of action against Hampton.
Elliott (C, 6-8, 260, Sr., Savannah, Ga.) averaged 19.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.0 steal against Florida A&M and Delaware State. He registered a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds, with four assists, one block and two steals, against Florida A&M.
Morgan (PG, 5-11, 180, Fr., Chester, Va.) totaled 51 points, two rebounds, three assists and three steals, against Hampton and Maryland Eastern Shore. He scored 31 points, including five 3-pointers, in 36 minutes of action against Hampton.
Boyd (C, 6-11, 220, Jr., Accokeek, Md.) averaged 14.0 rebounds, 5.0 blocks and 1.0 steal, against Florida A&M and Hampton. He blocked a career-high eight shots, in a 63-53 win over Florida A&M. Offensively, he finished the week with 14 points.

Craig Bowman (FAMU) scored 25 points, including the game-winning bucket, in an 81-80 overtime win against Maryland Eastern Shore.
Quinton Chievous (HAM) registered a double-double of 21 points and 19 rebounds, in the 82-72 win over Delaware State.
Dante Holmes (NCCU) recorded 17 points, including five 3-pointers, against Bethune-Cookman.
Andre Horne, Jr. (MSU) totaled 49 points, seven rebounds, eight assists and one steal, in wins over Coppin State, Norfolk State and North Carolina A&T State.
Jeremiah Ingram (NCCU) shot 57-percent (8-of-14) from the floor for 19 points, against Bethune-Cookman.
K’Ja Johnson (FAMU) finished with 33 points, nine rebounds, eight assists, one block and 10 steals, against North Carolina A&T State, Howard and Maryland Eastern Shore.
Reginald Johnson, Jr. (HAM) averaged 17.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists in wins over Delaware State and Howard.
Alex Long (NSU) tallied 14 points, on 6-of-11 shooting, against Coppin State and Morgan State.
Troyce Manassa (SSU) shot perfect (12-of-12) from the free-throw line, in wins over Allen and South Carolina State.
Jordan Potts (B-CU) scored 27 points, including the go-ahead four-point play with 13 seconds left, in an overtime win against Stetson.
Rasean Simpson (MSU) recorded a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds, in a win over North Carolina A&T State.
LaRon Smith (B-CU) finished with 20 points, 12 rebounds, one assist, six blocks, and one steal, in wins over Stetson and North Carolina Central.
D’Shon Taylor (NSU) posted a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds, with three assists and four steals, against Morgan State.
