NORFOLK, Va. – Bethune-Cookman junior Kailyn Williams and North Carolina A&T State graduate Courtney Powell were selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women’s Basketball Co-Players of the Week, the conference announced today. K’lynn Willis, of Hampton, earned Rookie of the Week honors, while South Carolina State’s Jasmine Coleman was selected as Defensive Player of the Week.
Williams (C, 6-4, Jr., New Orleans, La.) shot 67-percent (8-of-12) from the field and 5-of-6 from the free-throw line, in a 62-50 win over North Carolina Central. She recorded 21 points, five rebounds, two assists, four blocks and one steal in 34 minutes of action.
Powell (F, 6-1, Gr., Youngstown, Ohio) totaled 23 points, 19 rebounds, two assists, one block and three steals, in wins over Morgan State and Florida A&M. She tallied 20 points, on 10-of-11 shooting, with nine boards, one assist and three steals, in a 70-66 win over Florida A&M.
Willis (G, 5-3, Fr., Detroit, Mich.) shot 44-percent (17-of-39) from the floor and 71-percent (15-of-21) from the free-throw line in conference wins over Delaware State and Howard. She finished with a career-high 31 points, five boards and four steals, in a 77-48 victory over Howard.
Coleman (F, 6-0, Sr., Decatur, Ga.) totaled 27 rebounds, eight blocks and four steals in conference games against Howard and Savannah State. She grabbed 14 boards, with a career-high seven blocks and three steals, against Savannah State. Offensively, she posted 11 points in the two contests.

Ciani Byrom (UMES) recorded 19 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, one block and three steals, in a 54-49 win over Delaware State.
Tiyonda Davis (SSU) finished with seven points, 13 boards, one assist, four blocks and one steal, in a win over South Carolina State.
Kenyata Hendrix (SSU) tallied a career-high 18 points, including four 3-pointers, six rebounds and two assists, in a win over South Carolina State.
London Holland (FAMU) posted 13 points, three rebounds, one assist and two steals, against North Carolina A&T State.
Janelle Lane (CSU) totaled 25 points, 12 rebounds, two blocks and two steals, in wins over Norfolk State and Morgan State.
NaJai Pollard (DSU) recorded a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds, with two assists, four blocks and two steals, against Hampton.
Malia Tate-DeFreitas (HAM) averaged 16.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.5 steals, in wins over Delaware State and Howard.
Omaah Tayong (CSU) totaled 23 points, 18 rebounds and five blocks, in conference wins over Norfolk State and Morgan State.
Khaderja Young (FAMU) registered a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds, with one assist and five steals, in a 64-53 win over Howard.
