Morgan State Knocks Off James Madison

BALTIMORE, Md. – Morgan State men's tennis held off James Madison in a 4-3 battle on Friday as the Bears won four of six singles matches in their home-opener.

Morgan State improved to 2-4 in duals while JMU fell to 1-1 on the season.

The Dukes edged the Bears in doubles play, winning two of three matches to earn the opening point. Robert Stirling and Tristan Stitt won 6-3 at the No. 1 position over Arjun Ramakrishnan and Jeremy Field, and Maxi Branth and Brett Moorhead defeated Treajh Ferguson and Felix Andre 6-4 at the No. 3 position.

Jeremy Field took down Robert Stirling in singles action, winning in two sets (6-4, 7-6(5)) at the No. 2 position. Evan Ward posted his own two-set win (6-3, 6-1) over Tristan Stitt at No. 3 singles.

At No. 6 singles, Lucas Krusinski shut the door on Branth's comeback bid he took the full three sets (6-2, 3-6, 6-3).

The Bears are back on the courts tomorrow afternoon when they travel to face George Washington for a 1 p.m. match.
