Bethune-Cookman Falls To Florida Atlantic

BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Bethune-Cookman dropped a 4-3 decision to Florida Atlantic Friday afternoon.

The Lady Wildcats (1-4) used victories from the teams of Mina Matsuba/Matea Roki and Alejandra Vidal/Ancia Ifill to secure the doubles point, but Florida Atlantic (3-4) rallied with four singles victories to take the match.

Matsuba, the two-time Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference player of the year, improved her singles record to 3-2 and doubles to 3-1 on the year. Ifill registered her first singles victory of the season.

Bethune-Cookman is off until Saturday, Feb. 27 when its hosts Mercer at 10 a.m. then begins MEAC conference play with a 3 p.m. match against Savannah State.
