SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Coppin State finished with a pair in double figure scoring in a 76-30 defeat at #20 Syracuse on Wednesday, December 7th in the Carrier Dome. Graduate Tiara Goode led the Eagles with 15 points and senior Keena Samuels scored 11 points in the eighth loss of the season for Coppin State.
Goode and Samuels combined for 26 of 30 total points by Coppin State. Goode had a team-high 15 points on five made 3-pointers and Samuels finished with 11 points knocking down five field goals and making the Eagles only free-throw of the game. Samuels leads the Eagles with five double-digit scoring games this year while Goode recorded her second.

HAMPTON, Va. — Junior Kaylah Lupoe recorded her third double-double in her last four games with a season-high 21 points and matching a season-best with 12 rebounds as the Hampton Lady Pirates opened their home slate with a 71-65 win over Temple on Wednesday.
Lupoe paced three in double figures with her 21 points and game-high 12 rebounds. Malia Tate-DeFreitas added 12 points and five assists, while Monnazjea Finney-Smith added 12 and season-highs in rebounds with seven and assists with four. As a team, Hampton shot 23-of-52 from the floor for a season-best 44.2 percent. From 3-point land they were 3-of-9 (33.3 percent) and at the foul line they were 22-of-43 (51.2 percent).

EMMITSBURG, Md. — Despite only scoring 21 point in the first half, Coach Fred Batchelor and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Women’s Basketball team overcame their slow start and knocked off in-state foe Mount St. Mary’s, 63-52, inside Knott Arena.
Senior guard Mariah McCoy had a team-high 15 points on 50-percent (6-of-12) shooting from the floor. Sophomore Ciani Byrom displayed an all-around performance, producing 13 points, five assists, four boards, and three thefts in the victory.
Other notable Hawk performances included guard Moengaroa Subritzky recording 11 points and five rebounds. Off the bench, juniors Shauntesha Bryant and Alexus Hicks combined for 15 points in the win.
