DURHAM, N.C. — North Carolina Central University sophomore forward Deja McCain flirted with a double-double by supplying team-high totals of 13 points and eight rebounds in a 64-54 non-conference women’s basketball loss to visiting Wofford College on Saturday afternoon inside McDougald-McLendon Arena.
McCain matched her career-high 13-point total by sinking 6-of-3 field goals (46.2 percent) and her only free throw try on a three-point play. Her eight rebounds were a new best mark for the Charlotte, North Carolina, product.
Sophomore guard Dominique Adams followed with 10 points and six rebounds. Senior guard Morgan Jones bucketed eight points while sophomore guard Rodneysha Martin and freshman guard Jada Blow both chipped in six points. Jones, Blow and senior guard Monique Whaley-Briggs all distributed four assists.

FARMVILLE, Va. — Senior guard Jordan Strode’s career-high 23 points paced the Norfolk State women’s basketball team to its second consecutive road win in an 85-56 victory over Longwood on Saturday afternoon at Willett Hall.
Strode shot a perfect 12-of-12 from the charity stripe, while grabbing four rebounds and adding four assists.
Junior forward Kayla Roberts fell two rebounds short of her fourth consecutive double-double. She tallied 15 rebounds with eight rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block.
Sophomore center Shayla Tanner and junior guard Gabrielle Swinson scored in double-figures off the bench. Tanner tallied a career-high 10 points while grabbing seven boards. Swinson recorded 10 points and four assists and freshman forward De’Janaire Deas tallied eight points and five rebounds as the Spartan bench outscored Longwood’s 36-13.

SAVANNAH. Ga. — Savannah State University women’s basketball team (2-6) trailed as much as 16 points to Jacksonville State University (5-4), but SSU’s comeback bid fell short as the Gamecocks won 64-57 Saturday in Tiger Arena.
Senior guard Kenyata Hendrix led the Lady Tigers with 16 points and added four rebounds and three assists, while junior guard Kierstan Green added 15 points on 5-for-8 shooting in 10 minutes off the bench.
Graduate student guard Lauren “Gaby” Moss added 10 points, while senior forward Jeremica Edwards led the team with seven rebounds and with three steals and senior center Caprisha Treadwell added six rebounds and three blocks.

TOWSON, Md. — The Eagles set a pair of all-time three-point records in a 69-65 loss at Towson on Saturday, December 3rd in the SECU Arena. Red shirt senior Tiara Goode made eight three-pointers and the Eagles as a team made 11 in their strongest game of the year.
The Eagles scored a season-high 65 points, made 11 three-pointers on 20 attempts, converted on 20-of-29 free-throws, 15 assists, and 13 steals in their sixth road game of the year. Goode netted a team season-high 28 points making a total of nine shots from the field. Senior Keena Samuels tied her season-high with 18 points making 6-of-7 free-throws. Red shirt junior Genesis Lucas went a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line and had five assists.
