DELAND, Fla. — Kailyn Williams scored a career-high 24 points in Bethune-Cookman’s 69-60 loss to Tennessee State Monday afternoon at the Hatter Classic.

Williams finished 9-of-14 from the field and 6-for-8 from the line. She also led the Wildcats with seven rebounds. Taylor Houston had six boards.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Howard women’s basketball put up a tough fight in Burr Gymnasium but dropped a 70-63 decision to University of Illinois-Chicago on Monday night.

For the eighth game this season, redshirt senior Te’Shya Heslip led the Bison in scoring on a game-best 19 points. She paired it with seven steals, six assists and four rebounds.

Freshman Imani Bryant crashed the boards as she recorded a career-high 17 rebounds, 12 of which were on the offensive end. It was her third time pulling down double figures in rebounds.

Senior Sydni Johnson posted 13 points, including a trio from downtown, along with seven boards, while redshirt junior Erin Blaine notched 12 points.
