SAVANNAH, Ga. — Senior guard Kenyata Hendrix’s three-pointer in the first quarter gave her 154 career made 3-pointers to set the school record in the Division I era as Savannah State University women’s basketball team (2-5) fell to Georgia Southern University (3-5) 50-45 in Tiger Arena Thursday night.

 Hendrix totaled three 3-pointers made in the game to give her 156 career made 3-point field goals and recorded 13 points, four rebounds and two assists, while graduate student guard Lauren “Gaby” Moss recorded her first double-double as a Tiger with 17 points and 11 rebounds. 

 Junior guard Aiyannah Peal added seven points and seven rebounds, while senior forward Jeremica Edwards added eight rebounds and four points.

Bethune-Cookman 76, Flagler 53

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Kendra Cooper scored 18 points as Bethune-Cookman snapped a five-game losing streak with a 76-53 win over Flagler Thursday night at the ICI Center.

Kailyn Williams scored 10 of her 15 points in the third quarter as the Lady Wildcats (2-5) outscored Flagler (2-3) 27-6 in the period to pull away from a 36-32 halftime lead. Williams also finished with six blocked shots.

Kanesha Battle and Angel Golden each contributed 10 points. Armani Walker posted eight points and six rebounds while Ashanti Hunt had eight points and five rebounds.

Xavier 86, Delaware State 53

CINCINNATI, Ohio — Delaware State junior guard Mikah Aldridge scored a game-high 20 points in her return from a three-game injury absence, but it wasn't nearly enough as the Lady Hornets were throttled by Xavier 86-53 at the Cintas Center this evening. The contest wrapped up a string of six straight road games for DSU.

Marquia Turner and Imani Partlow led Xavier with 18 points each, while Raeshaun Gaffney added 11 points for the Musketeers.

Aaliyah Davis scored a season-high 13 points, while NaJai Pollard also tallied 13 for the Lady Hornets.
