BOCA RATON, Fla. — After knocking off Saint Francis (Pa.) in the opener of the FAU Holiday Tournament, Coach Fred Batchelor and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Women’s Basketball team met Florida Atlantic (FAU) and defeated the Owls, 76-59, inside “The Burrow.” With the victory, Eastern Shore captured the 2016 FAU Holiday Championship.

Sophomore guard Ciani Byrom led all scorers with 25 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the field. Senior Mariah McCoy added 18 points and a game-high seven boards. As a result, both Hawks were named to the FAU Holiday All-Tournament Team.

Other notable Hawk performances included Subritzky recording 16 points on 70-percent (7-of-10) shooting from the floor. Furthermore, the New Zealand native became the 10th Hawk in history to make 100 three-pointers in a career.
