WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Howard women’s basketball team cruised to a 95-62 victory over Mount St. Mary’s on Saturdayafternoon in its home opener in Burr Gymnasium.
Senior Sydni Johnson just missed out on a double-double with a season-high 21 points and nine rebounds. She went 7-of-14 from the floor, including four three-pointers.
Redshirt senior Te’Shya Heslip added 18 points, eight assists and five steals, while classmate Jasmine Hill was a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line on her way to 15 points.
Junior Tajzhane Dopson and freshman Imani Bryant tallied nine points apiece. Bryant also had her third consecutive game with double-digit rebounds (11). Off the bench, rookie Sarah Edmond notched eight points and was 3-for-3 on the day with a pair from long range.
