BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The Howard women's basketball team had four players reach double figures for its first win of the 2016 season in a 78-63 triumph over St. Francis (N.Y.) on Wednesday night in Pope Physical Education Center. 

 Redshirt senior Te'Shya Heslip had a game-high 19 points with eight rebounds, seven assists and three steals. Redshirt junior Erin Blaine added 16 points, while senior Sydni Johnson poured in 13 points, four boards and four assists. 

 Freshman Imani Bryant posted her first-ever double-double thanks to a career-high 14 points and 11 rebounds. She made 7-of-8 field goals and tallied three blocks.

Norfolk State 63, High Point 60

HIGH POINT, N.C. — The Norfolk State women’s basketball team matched its win total from last season and improve to 3-4 on the young season, after holding off High Point (1-5), 63-60 Wednesday night at Millis Athletic Convocation Center.

Junior forward Kayla Roberts paced the Spartans with her third straight double-double. She scored 16 points and grabbed a season-high 17 rebounds, while senior guard Jordan Strode recorded 16 points as well and grabbed six boards. Senior forward Khalilah Ali was the third Spartan in double figures. She dropped in 10 points and grabbed five rebounds.
