PRINCESS ANNE, Md. — Fresh off a third straight men’s MEAC championship and a second straight women’s runner-up performance, the Hawks cross country teams head to University Park, Pennsylvania for the 2016 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional. The women’s 6k will begin at noon with the men’s 10k scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start.
In the 2015 edition of the meet, the men registered an 18th place finish while the women placed 28th. Current senior Khalil Rmidi Kinini led the way with a 61st place finish out of 174 participants and a time of 32:19.4 in the 10k while current senior Jennaya Hield led the women’s team with a time of 24:05.8 in the 6k.
This year, Rmidi Kinini and Hield return to race in the meet, and will be accompanied by seniors Mark Blackmon and Nassor Whitehead, juniors Stanley Meli and Donovan Mundy, sophomore Jordan Leon, and several exciting freshmen—Sharon Jerop, Silvia Guerra, Neus Quinonero and Alberto Guerrero.
