Howard's Donaldson Earns CoSIDA All-District Recognition

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Junior outside hitter Khaila Donaldson earned Academic All-District honors, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday.

It is the first time Donaldson has been honored as a member of the Academic All-District team.

Donaldson has started all 27 matches so far this season. She leads the team and Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) while also ranking nationally with 466.0 points (24th), 383 kills (30th), 4.69 points per set (35th) and 4.03 kills per set (48th). Her 31 service aces tops the squad and 224 digs check in third. Donaldson has tallied double digit kills in 22 matches and recorded 10 double-doubles.

This has been a record-setting season for the Vernon Hills, Illinois native, who is now the all-time program leader with 1,181 kills.

In the classroom, Donaldson is a finance major, boasting an impressive 3.89 grade point average.

Donaldson is joined by Kyra Coundourides (Temple), Haleigh Washington (Penn State) Ashley Dusek (Kentucky), April Krivoniak (Robert Morris), and Hannah Shreve (West Virginia) on the District 2 team, which includes all Division I teams in Washington DC, Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

By making the All-District team, Donaldson is eligible for Academic All-America consideration, which will be announced on Dec. 8.

Howard (22-5, 11-0 MEAC) is slated to conclude the 2016 regular season on Friday, Nov. 4 when it hosts Morgan State in Burr Gymnasium at 7 p.m.
