KENNESAW, Ga. — Senior center Caprisha Treadwell and senior guard Kenyata Hendrix combined for 27 points as Savannah State University women’s basketball team (2-3) fell to Kennesaw State University (1-4) 72-60 in KSU Convocation Center Saturday.
Treadwell led the Lady Tigers with 14 points on 6-for-8 shooting from the floor and added five rebounds in 14 minutes, while Hendrix added 13 points and three rebounds.
Senior forward Jeremica Edwards led the team with six rebounds and added six points and two steals, while Tiyonda Davis added seven points, three rebounds, five blocks and three steals.

CINCINNATI, Ohio — Seniors Sydni Johnson and Te'Shya Heslip combined for 33 points in Howard's 66-56 loss to Cincinnati on Saturday night in a non-conference matchup at Fifth Third Arena.
For the fifth consecutive game, Heslip recorded double figures on 18 points and paired it with four rebounds and two steals.
Johnson finished with a season-high 15 points, seven boards and three assists on the night. She scored most of her points at the free throw line, going 7-of-10, and connected twice from long range. Redshirt junior Erin Blaine grabbed six rebounds and put up nine points.
Howard made 19 of its 24 free throw attempts, a season-high, but shot the ball at a 26.2 percent clip (16-61) for the game.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Junior forward Kayla Roberts recorded seasons highs of 23 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Norfolk State (2-3) women’s basketball team to an 81-57 victory over host Lehigh in the opening round of the Christmas City Classic Saturday afternoon at Stabler Arena.
Junior guard Gabrielle Swinson and senior guards Jordan Strode and Kiara Phillips joined Roberts in double-digit scoring. Swinson recorded a season-high 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field and a 3-for-3 effort from the free-throw line. She also grabbed seven rebounds while adding three assists and two steals.
Strode returned to the lineup after a one-game absence and registered her fourth consecutive double-digit scoring game to start the season. She tallied 12 points while grabbing three rebounds and dishing out two assists. Phillips added 11 points and hit three of NSU’s six 3-pointers on the day.
