SAVANNAH, Ga. – Savannah State University and South Carolina State University volleyball teams have agreed to postpone the match to Oct. 17 at 5:30 p.m. due to Hurricane Matthew.
The match was originally schedule for Friday at 6 p.m., but the hurricane is expected to make landfall in Georgia on Friday. The match will still be held in Willcox-Wiley Gymnasium.
Savannah State classes are canceled beginning at 3 p.m. today, Oct. 5, until 8 a.m., Monday, Oct. 10. All campus events scheduled after 3 p.m. today have been suspended due to the campus closure.
Forecaster with the National Weather Service predict it could bring strong rain, wind and flooding to Savannah and the east coast.
