NORFOLK, Va. — Howard junior Khaila Donaldson and Florida A&M freshman Maria Yvette Garcia were selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Co-Volleyball Players of the Week, the conference announced today. Howard’s Tamia Dockery and Florida A&M’s Valeria Lopez earned Co-Setter of the Week honors, while Morgan Marlbrough, of Howard, was selected Defensive Specialist of the Week. Bethune-Cookman’s Alana Handy was named Rookie of the Week.
Donaldson (OH, 5-11, Jr., Vernon Hills, Ill.) averaged a double-double of 13.0 digs and 13.5 kills in wins over Bethune-Cookman and Coppin State. She now ranks second in program history with 1,113 career kills.
Garcia (OH, 6-1, Fr., Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) complied 19 kills, while hitting .381, 10 digs, two service aces and one block in a non-conference 3-1 win over Troy.
Handy (OH, 5-10, Fr., Burlington, Wash.) totaled 30 kills, 23 digs, two blocks and one assist against Howard and Morgan State. She averaged a double-double of 15.0 kills and 11.5 digs in both matches.
Dockery (S, 5-8, So., Richmond, Texas) averaged 12.0 assists per set and 36.0 assists per match against Bethune-Cookman and Coppin State. She recorded a match-high 51 assists in a four-set victory over Bethune-Cookman.
Lopez (S, 5-9, Jr., Medellin, Colombia) totaled 45 assists, five kills and four digs against Troy. She notched a match-high and career-high 45 assists in the four-set win.
Marlbrough (LB, 5-4, Sr., Mandeville, La.) averaged 5.0 digs per set and 12.0 digs per match in wins over Bethune-Cookman and Coppin State. Her team-high 11 digs helped Howard hold Coppin State to a .039 hitting percentage, in a three-set win.

Jill Aquino (NSU) averaged 8.69 assists per set in wins over North Carolina A&T State, Hampton and Delaware State.
Ivana Blazevic (MDES) hit .571, with 11 digs, four kills and four service aces, in a three-set victory over Delaware State.
Keana Browne (MSU) recorded a match-high 13 kills, with three block and two digs, against Bethune-Cookman.
Melvina Brown (NSU) registered a career-high six service aces in a five-set victory over Hampton.
Samara Brown (NCAT) posted a double-double of 16 kills and 11 digs against Norfolk State.
Kirstin Fink (MDES) averaged 11.5 digs per match in wins over Delaware State and Hampton.
Jasmin Hubbard (MSU) collected a match-high and career-high 22 digs against Bethune-Cookman.
Jessica Johnson (NSU) notched a career-high 22 kills in a win over North Carolina A&T State.
Brianna Lilly (HAM) posted career highs in assists (55), kills (4) and blocks (4) in a five-set loss to Norfolk State.
Rachel Kayongo (MDES) came off the bench to lead the team with 25 kills in wins over Delaware State and Hampton.
Micah Leavell (HAM) recorded a season-high 30 kills, against Norfolk State, to lead the conference this season.
Jasmine Lindor (NCAT) totaled eight blocks, eight kills, four digs, two assists and one service ace against Norfolk State.
Dominique Madarang (CSU) posted her seventh double-double of the season, with 16 assists and 13 digs, against Howard.
Reeana Richardson (HAM) totaled 29 kills, 11 digs, one assist, one service and one block against Norfolk State and Maryland Eastern Shore.
Roi Wallace (MSU) averaged 11.2 assists per set and 33.5 assists per match against Coppin State and Bethune-Cookman.
