MEAC Commissioner To Participate In Historic Forum With President Obama

Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Commissioner Dr. Dennis E. Thomas will participate in ESPN’s The Undefeated A Conversation with The President: Sports, Race and Achievement student forum with President Barack Obama on Tuesday at North Carolina A&T State University. The forum will air at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN and the WatchESPN app.

ESPN SportsCenter anchor Stan Verrett, a Howard University graduate, will host and moderate the forum as the one-hour program will consist of North Carolina A&T State Chancellor Harold L. Martin Sr., students and invited guests.

President Obama will discuss lessons in leadership; the “My Brother’s Keeper” Initiative, which aims to address opportunity gaps faced by all youth including boys and young men of color; the current role and legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities; athletes and social activism; the Obama Administration’s actions to provide opportunity for students and more. The President will also take questions from the audience.

Based in Greensboro, N.C., North Carolina A&T State University is the nation’s largest HBCU with 11,000-plus students.
