NORFOLK, Va. – Florida A&M junior Alicia McCray and Hampton junior Malia Tate-DeFreitas were selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women’s Basketball Co-Players of the Week, the conference announced today. London Holland, of Florida A&M, earned Rookie of the Week honors, while Norfolk State’s Siobhan Beslow was named Defensive Player of the Week.
McCray (F, 5-11, Jr., West Palm Beach, Fla.) shot 67-percent (14-of-21) from the floor and 3-of-4 from the free-throw line in victories over Clemson and Savannah State. She notched a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds, with four assists, one block and one steal in a 77-68 win over Clemson.
Tate-DeFreitas (G, 5-8, Jr., Harrisburg, Pa.) totaled 97 points, 27 rebounds, 10 assists, nine steals and two blocks against Wake Forest, Rhode Island, Stetson and Princeton. She poured in a season-high 33 points, including five 3-pointers, with six boards, two steals and one assist in a 59-54 overtime win over Rhode Island. Also, she was named the FIU Surfing Santa Classic Most Valuable Player.
Holland (F, 5-11, Fr., McKinney, Texas) totaled 18 points, five rebounds and two steals against Clemson and Savannah State. She came off the bench to score 11 points, on 5-of-9 shooting, with three boards and two steals, in a 77-68 road win over Clemson.
Beslow (F, 5-11, r-Sr., Norfolk, Va.) averaged 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 2.0 steals against La Salle and Saint Francis (NY). She grabbed 11 boards and blocked a career-best four shots against Saint Francis (NY). Offensively, she matched her career-high with 18 points, on 9-of-14 shooting, against Saint Francis (NY). Also, she was named to the Monmouth Hawk Holiday Classic all-tournament team.

Amber Bogard (DSU) tallied 14 points, eight rebounds, two steals and one blocked shot against Hofstra.
Kendra Cooper (B-CU) recorded 31 points, including six 3-pointers, with six rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block, in a 65-49 win over Georgia Southern.
Victoria Gonzales (HOW) totaled 40 points, 14 rebounds, two blocks and one steal against Syracuse and Cornell.
Yazmen Hannah (NSU) averaged 11.0 points, 3.0 steals, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists at the Monmouth Hawk Holiday Classic.
Najai Pollard (DSU) registered 11 points, seven rebounds, three steals and one block against Hofstra.
Omaah Tayong (CSU) averaged 9.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals at the UVA Cavalier Shootout.
Alexis Udoji (UMES) posted six points, four boards, four blocks, one assist and one steal against UNC-Greensboro.
