NCCU Drops Match To Fifth-Ranked UNC

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Senior Aissa Muamba was the closest North Carolina Central University player to winning a set as the Oracle/ITA fifth-ranked University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill women’s tennis team notched a 7-0 non-conference win at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center Wednesday evening.

Muamba did not win a game in her first set against junior Hayley Carter, but threatened to force a third set in the final match by winning four games in the second set. Carter – a two-time ITA All-America honoree – is ranked sixth nationally in singles and remained undefeated on the season at 6-0 after eventually winning 6-0, 6-4 over Muamba.
