NCCU's Basketball Games at Delaware State Postponed

DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University men’s and women’s basketball doubleheader at Delaware State University originally scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 23 has been postponed because of winter storm Jonas that is impacting most of the east coast over the weekend.

The NCCU at Delaware State Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference basketball games are being rescheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 27 with the women’s game starting at 5 p.m. and the men’s contest slated to tip-off at 7 p.m.

Governor Pat McCrory has already declared a state of emergency for North Carolina with Durham County in a winter storm warning from midnight Thursday until 6 p.m. Saturday.

Dover, Delaware will be in a blizzard watch and coastal flood watch by the National Weather Service from Friday evening through Sunday morning. Meteorologists are forecasting up to one foot of snow (6 to 14 inches), strong winds (gusts up to 55 mph) and low visibility (1/4 mile or less) in DSU’s vicinity.

At this time, NCCU is still scheduled to play Coppin State University in Baltimore, Maryland on Monday.
