NORFOLK, Va. – Bethune-Cookman freshman Daniel Kiptoo and Morgan State sophomore Karen Escobedo were selected the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference’s (MEAC) Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Athletes of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Kiptoo (Fr., Eldoret, Kenya) claimed his second consecutive second-place finish of the season at the UCF-Hagerty Invitational. Competing in his first 8K, Kiptoo tallied a time of 26:23.20 to lead the Wildcats.
Escobedo (So., Silver Spring, Md.) captured the 5K Hornet Invitational title, with a time of 19:45.00. It was her second victory of the season as she helped the Lady Bears finish second.
Other Top Performers:
Nicole Gazzola (DSU) finished 11th on the 5K Hornet Invitational course, with a time of 21:49.30.
Miranda Green (NCAT) posted a time of 19:30 to finish seventh at the Elon Invitational.
Jennaya Hield (UMES) placed third at the 5K Hornet Invitational, with a time of 20:33.00.
Nyajock Pan (B-CU) secured a time of 19:20.13 on the 5K course at the UCF-Hagerty Invitational.
Khalil Rmidi Kinini (UMES) led his team to a first-place finish by winning the 5K Hornet Invitational, with a top time of 15:48.00.
Darren White (NCAT) recorded a fifth-place finish, with a time of 26:30, at the 8K Elon Invitational.
