Delaware State student-athletes attend DHCI prom

SMYRNA, Del. --- Delaware State University student-athletes, coaches and administrators brought cheer to residents of the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill during their annual spring/summer prom this evening.

More than a dozen members of the Hornet football team joined about 50 decked out hospital residents for music and dancing during the affair, which included the crowning of a king and queen.

“We are so thrilled that Delaware State University has joined us for our annual prom,” said Lisa Satterly, DHCI’s Activity/Therapy Program Coordinator. “The participation of the Hornet athletes and coaches has made this a truly special event for our residents and staff.”

Delaware State head football coach Kenny Carter and his staff, along with Hornet women’s basketball coach Barbara Burgess joined in the festivities.

DSU Associate Athletic Director Mary Hill and National Alumni Association President Sheila Davis also represented the Hornets and showed off their dance moves during the affair.
