NORFOLK, Va. – Delaware State’s Jordan Stamps was selected the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Softball Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. Bethune-Cookman’s Sabrina Anguiano and Hampton’s Allyson Babinsack earned the Co-Pitcher’s of the Week honors, while Delaware State’s Vanessa Washington earned Rookie of the Week accolades.
Stamps (3B, 5-6, Jr., Torrance, Calif.) registered an .857 batting average (6-for-7), including four home runs and one double, with seven RBI and six runs. She belted three home runs and one double in a 15-5 victory over Coppin State.
Anguiano (P, 5-7, So., Hacienda Heights, Calif.) tossed 19.0 innings, with two runs allowed, scattering 10 hits and striking out 12. She earned three victories in a series sweep over North Carolina Central.
Babinsack (P, 5-11, Fr., Hampton, Va.) recorded 20 strikeouts and allowed four runs, in 19.0 innings pitched, against Morgan State and Howard.
Washington (Util., 5-6, Fr., Sacremento, Calif.) notched three hits, including two home runs and one double, with eight RBI and four runs scored, in two victories over Coppin State.
