AWENDAW, S.C. – The GRU Augusta men’s golf team shot their second-consecutive, even-par 288 on Monday afternoon at the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate, at Bulls Bay Golf Club in Awendaw, S.C., and climbed to fifth place in the 15-team after round two.
The Jaguars started round two at 9:00 a.m. off number one on the par-72, 7363-yard course and improved by four places with a team score of 288. No. 5 South Carolina leads their home event at nine-under par, while Duke is second one stroke behind.
Junior Robin Petersson shaved six strokes and shot a 66 (-6) in his second round with eight birdies on the scorecard (five on the front nine). He is tied for fourth overall and leading the Jaguars at five-under par, while Jake Marriott and Viktor Edin are knotted in a tie for 31st – each sitting two-over par.
Marriott shot his second-straight 73 (+1) and Edin posted a 74 in round two. Cody Shafer sits eight spots back in a tie for 38th – shooting a five-over 77 in his second round of 18. Maverick Antcliff sits in a tie for 44th overall and is four-over par after 36 holes.
