CHESAPEAKE, Va. -The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) completed the first day of the 2015 MEAC Bowling Championship at the AMF Lanes in Chesapeake, Virginia.
The eight-team field competed in five traditional team games to determine seeding for the championship tournament.
The defending MEAC Tournament champion Maryland Eastern Shore Lady Hawks earned the top seed heading into tomorrow’s action after rolling 4,867 total pins and posting a 4-1 mark. The Lady Hawks and will face Florida A&M in match one.
The North Carolina A&T State Aggies earned the second seed with a 5-0 record and 4,775 total pinfall. North Carolina A&T State will meet Morgan State in match three.
Delaware State earned the third seed (4,585), followed by Howard (4,440) in fourth. Bethune-Cookman Lady Wildcats captured the fifth seed with a total pinfall of 4,346. Norfolk State (4,323), Morgan State (4,174) and Florida A&M (4,169) earned the sixth through eighth seeds, respectively.
No. 4 Howard will take on the No. 5 Bethune-Cookman in match two, while No. 3 Delaware State will face No. 6 Norfolk State in match four.
Matches begin tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. with teams competing in a best-of-seven Baker series.
The MEAC bowling championship wraps up on Sunday with the championship final at 12:00 p.m. The championship match will be televised in a tape-delayed format and will air on ESPNU on March 30 at 9:00 p.m.
Admission to the bowling championship is free and open to the public.
