NORFOLK, Va. – Jordan Parks of North Carolina Central was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. Norfolk State’s Zaynah Robinson earned Rookie of the Week honors, while teammate RaShid Gaston was selected the Defensive Player of the Week.
Parks (G, 6-7, 200, Sr., Queens, N.Y.) recorded 20 points, nine rebounds and two steals in 39 minutes, while shooting perfect from the field (8-of-8) in a 72-49 win over Bethune-Cookman.
Robinson (G, 5-11, 170, Fr., Duluth, Ga.) registered five points, including a 3-pointer, one rebound and one assist in 14 minutes of play in aiding the Spartans to a win against Delaware State.
Gaston (F, 6-9, 240, Jr., Warren, Ohio) tallied 13 rebounds and one block in a 81-71 conference victory over Delaware State. Offensively, Gaston finished with 16 points and two assist in the contest.

James Carlton (HOW) tallied a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds, with five assists in a 73-65 win over South Carolina State.
Taariq Cephas (CSU) recorded 20 points, six rebounds and three assists in an 88-77 win over Morgan State.
Dallas Gary (CSU) registered 18 points, nine rebounds and one assist in an 88-77 win over Morgan State.
Kendall Gray (DSU) totaled 15 rebounds, nine blocks, six points, two assists and one steal against Norfolk State and Maryland Eastern Shore.
Terel Hall (SSU) registered 14 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals in a 58-49 win over Bethune-Cookman.
Amere May (DSU) averaged 26.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists against Norfolk State and Maryland Eastern Shore.
Mike Myers (UMES) registered 20 points, six rebounds, four steals, two assists and one block in a 69-65 win over Delaware State.
Jermaine Ruttley (FAMU) finished with a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds, with three steals and two assists in a 63-52 loss to Savannah State.
Jeff Short (NSU) registered 25 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals in an 81-71 win over Delaware State.
