A&T Bowling Wins Divisional Title
GREENSBORO – Back in October the North Carolina A&T bowling team was picked first in the MEAC southern division preseason poll. On Sunday it saw that prediction unveiled as it posted another perfect day on the lanes to capture the divisional title at Galimore Lanes on the campus of Florida A&M.
The Aggies (62-33 overall, 20-4 MEAC) went undefeated during the final MEAC meet. After going 4-0 in Saturday’s traditional team games, A&T topped FAMU 958-836, No. 18 Norfolk State 996-888, N.C. Central 976-828, and Bethune-Cookman 1,059-909 in Sunday’s baker games. The Aggies finished the meet with a total pinfall of 8,238 and averaged 206.0 throughout their games.
The Aggies have one more milestone in the conference to accomplish which will take place on Mar. 20-22 when they compete in the MEAC tournament in Chesapeake, Va.

UMES CLINCHES 7th MEAC NORTH TITLE WITH 9-1 WEEKEND
TOWSON, Md.—The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) women’s bowling team clinched their seventh Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Northern Division title this past weekend in Towson, Maryland, as the Hawks went 9-1, to improve their conference record to 29-1 on the season and 74-39 overall. They will enter the MEAC Championships later this month as the No. 1 overall team in Chesapeake, Va., bowling for their eighth conference championship.
The Hawks head to Nashville, this weekend, Friday-Sunday to face a tough field in what is the last regular season event. They will then bowl in a series of championships, including the ECAC and MEAC Conference Championships and hope performances at those three events earn them a bid to the NCAA Championships in April.

FAMU Finishes 3rd In MEAC Southern Divisional
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The FAMU Women’s Bowling team put on a strong finishing surge in Sunday’s Baker round of this weekend’s MEAC Southern Divisional Tournament at the Galimore Lanes on the FAMU campus.
The Lady Rattlers (25-33, 12-12 in MEAC) went 3-1 in Sunday’s Baker round, moving up from fourth to third place, with a total pinfall of 3,622.
FAMU finished with five 200-plus games Sunday, led by Amber Brunson’s 213 and 210 games; Alexus Suarez’s 203 and 201 games, and KaLynn Baker’s 212.
WHAT’S NEXT: The Lady Rattlers head to Nashville, Tennessee to compete in the Music City Classic, hosted by Vanderbilt University, this coming Friday through Sunday in their final competition before the March 20-22 MEAC Championships in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Wildcats Complete Third MEAC Southern Event
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Bethune-Cookman bowling team went 2-2 in Baker matches Sunday, wrapping up play at the third Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Southern Division event of the 2014-15 campaign. The event was housed at Galimore Lanes on the campus of Florida A&M, with the Rattlers serving as host of the two-day event.
Bethune-Cookman took part in four Baker matches Sunday, a day removed from going 3-1 in Traditional play against the MEAC Southern Division field.
B-CU took down North Carolina Central for its second win of the day, using a 959-676 score. It was senior Natalee Armstrong rolling a 212, while Baker rolled an equally impressive 208.
The Wildcats return to action March 6-8, traveling to Smyrna, Tennessee. Once there, B-CU competes in the annual Music City Classic hosted by Vanderbilt.

NSU Ends Regular Season 3rd in MEAC South
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The No. 19 Norfolk State bowling team ended the weekend with a 3-5 record during the third and final MEAC Southern Divisional of the year hosted by Florida A&M at the Galimore Lanes.
The Spartans saw their four-year streak of finishing first in the division snapped, as No. 10 North Carolina A&T pulled away to take home the regular season crown. The Aggies went a perfect 8-0 between Saturday and Sunday to complete the year at 20-4.
Junior Carrie Hickey had the best day among the Spartan bowlers, as she averaged 194.0 in four games. Senior Kelsea Yarbrough bowled a 221 against NCCU on the way to averaging 183.5 in four games.
The Spartans will take part in the USBC Intercollegiate Team Sectionals on March 14-15 in Stratford, N.J. The MEAC Championship will be held from March 20-22 at the AMF Lanes in Chesapeake, Va.
