MEAC TO HOST 2015 BOWLING CHAMPIONSHIP

NORFOLK, Va. - The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) will host its 2015 MEAC Bowling Championship, March 20-22, at the AMF Lanes in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Delaware State, Howard, Maryland Eastern Shore and Morgan State qualified from the northern division, while Bethune-Cookman, Florida A&M, Norfolk State and North Carolina A&T State will compete from the southern division.
 

Maryland Eastern Shore, the two-time MEAC Tournament defending champion, captured their sixth northern divisional title with a 29-1 mark in MEAC play. The Lady Hawks posted a 14-1 mark in team play and 15-0 record in Baker games during northern division action this season.

North Carolina A&T State finished atop the division with a 20-4 conference record en route to the southern crown to clinch the title. The Aggies were 11-1 in team play and 9-3 in Baker games during southern divisional action this season.

Only the top four teams from each division are eligible to compete in the championship tournament. Coppin State (9-75), Hampton (15-61), and North Carolina Central (5-34) were eliminated from postseason play.

The tournament begins tomorrow with a qualifying round of traditional play to determine seeding. The action continues on Saturday with teams competing in a best-of-seven Baker series in a bracket format.

The 2015 MEAC Bowling Championship will conclude on Sunday, March 22 with the championship final at 12:00 p.m. The championship finale will air tape-delayed on ESPNU on Monday, March 30 at 9:00 p.m.
