NORFOLK, Va. - North Carolina Central’s Casey Hargett earned Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Softball Player of the Week honors for games played March 2-8, the conference announced on Monday. NCCU teammate London Booker was selected Pitcher of the Week, while Bethune-Cookman’s Mariah Davis earned Rookie of the Week honors.
Hargett (RF, 5-8, Jr., Greenville, N.C.) registered a .400 batting average (8-of-20), including seven runs scored, four doubles, two RBIs, and a home run against Gardner-Webb, Alabama A&M, Jackson State, Grambling State, and Mississippi Valley State. She went 3-for-4, with two doubles and three runs scored in an 8-7 win over Mississippi Valley State.
Booker (RHP, 5-9, Jr., Richmond, Va.) pitched 24.0 innings and recorded a 3-1 record against Gardner-Webb, Jackson State, Grambling State and Mississippi Valley State. She fanned 19 batters, including eight, in a 3-1 win against Jackson State.
Davis (OF, 5-0, Fr., Madera, Calif.) registered five hits, including a 2-for-4 performance, with one RBI against Coastal Carolina. Defensively, she recorded nine putouts.

Sabrina Anguiano (B-CU) pitched four innings and scattered three hits in a 2-1 win against Coastal Carolina.
Alina Moriarty (NSU) went 2-for-3, with a double and a walk, in a 9-3 loss to Youngstown State.
Megan Przeslawski (NSU) batted .667 (2-for-3) in a 7-2 loss to Youngstown State.
