Aggies  In Front At MEAC Southern Bowling

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The North Carolina A&T Women’s Bowling team was sharp Saturday in rolling their way in front at the final Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Southern Division Tournament at the Galimore Lanes on the Florida A&M University campus.

A&T went 4-0 in Saturday’s traditional round, rolling 4,249 total pins to put them ahead of second place Bethune-Cookman (3,717), third place Norfolk State (3,566), fourth place FAMU (3,491) and fifth place North Carolina Central (3,148).

WHAT’S NEXT: Final round action begins Sunday at 9:00 a.m. with Baker play, with the Southern Division championship on the line. Sunday’s final round will be streamed live via FAMUAthletics.com.

B-CU Goes 3-1 at MEAC Southern in Tallahassee

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman Bowling picked up three wins on Saturday at Galimore Lanes on the campus of FAMU, competing in the third Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Southern Division event of the 2014-15 season.

Bethune-Cookman took part in four Traditional matches Saturday, taking on all four fellow participating members of the MEAC Southern Division. In all, B-CU finished the day 3-1.

The Wildcats began the day with a hard-fought 905-903 victory over Norfolk State. Senior Rebecca Gomez (San José, Costa Rica) led the charge in the first match, recording a 256 game. Sophomore Ivory Miles (Bolingbrook, Ill.) also topped 200, putting up a 203 score against the Spartans.

The final match was a 904-806 defeat of North Carolina Central. Gomez concluded the day posting her second 200-game, as she finished with a team-high 214 against the Eagles.

Bowling begins back at Galimore Lanes at 8:30 a.m.

FAMU fourth after Saturday’s opening round

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The North Carolina A&T Women’s Bowling team was sharp Saturday in rolling their way in front at the final Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Southern Division Tournament at the Galimore Lanes on the Florida A&M University campus.

Saturday’s top individual performers included A&T’s Emily Strombeck, who rolled a 992 total, with a 269 game in the opening frame. Teammates MacKenzie Robinson (884) and Kristin Shinn (839) rounded out the top three individual performers.
