NORFOLK, Va. – Tierra Hawkins of Delaware State was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. Kayla Roberts of Norfolk State earned Rookie of the Week honors, while Delaware State’s Nikkei Blackburn was selected as the Defensive Player of the Week.
Hawkins (F, 6-2, R-Sr., Clinton, Md.) matched a career-high by scoring 34 points and connecting on 14-of-16 field goals in a 72-71 win over Bethune-Cookman. She shot 87-percent from the floor and added 10 rebounds and two assists in the conference win.
Roberts (F, 6-1, Fr., Miami Gardens, Fla.) equaled a career-high 26 points, 15 rebounds, two steals and one block to help the Spartans to a 90-71 victory over Howard. In addition, she finished with a career-high four 3-pointers and tied her career best with three assists.
Blackburn (F, 6-0, Jr., Bennettsville, S.C.) totaled 27 rebounds and one steal in victories over New Jersey Institute of Technology and Bethune-Cookman. She registered 16 boards and one steal in a 56-54 win over NJIT. Offensively, Blackburn totaled 11 points in the two games.

Imani Bailey (HOW) shot 71-percent from the floor to finish with 18 points, seven assists, four rebounds and two steals in a 92-90 overtime victory over Maryland Eastern Shore.
Tiyonda Davis (SSU) finished with a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds in a 75-58 win against Morgan State.
Malia Tate-DeFreitas (HAM) recorded 23 points, six assists, five rebounds and five steals in a 71-43 victory over Maryland Eastern Shore.
Victoria Gonzales (HOW) tallied 17 points, eight boards, three blocks, two assists and one steal in a 92-90 overtime win against Maryland Eastern Shore.
Kenyata Hendrix (SSU) registered 20 points, four assists, three rebounds and two steals in a 72–58 victory over Morgan State.
Shawnee Sweeney (UMES) averaged 13.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.0 assist against Howard and Hampton.
Alexis Udoji (UMES) recorded nine points, six blocks and one rebound in a 92-90 overtime loss to Howard.
