B-CU Opens Wildcat Invitational in Third Place

DeLAND, Fla. – The Bethune-Cookman bowling team turned in a 2-3 performance on Friday, but sits just five pins out of second place at the Fourth Annual Wildcat Invitational, being housed in Sunshine Lanes in DeLand, Florida.

Prior to the day’s bowling getting underway, Bethune-Cookman not only honored its own seniors for a special Senior Appreciation Day, but also honored the seniors from each of the visiting teams as well. Joining B-CU in this year’s field is Alabama State, Florida A&M, Southern, Tulane and UAB.

Leading the tournament field in pin count is Alabama State (4,356), followed in order by UAB (4,265) and B-CU (4,260). Tulane (4,198), Florida A&M (4,127) and Southern (3,970) complete the scoring for opening day action.

Play continues for this year’s Wildcat Invitational back at Sunshine Lanes on Saturday, with teams taking part in five traditional games beginning at 10 a.m.

The Wildcat Invitational concludes Sunday with a tournament beginning at 9:30 a.m. The tournament, consisting of Best 4-of-7 Baker matches, will determine the champion. The 12 teams will be seeded based on the performance on Friday and Saturday.
