BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Bethune-Cookman dropped its fifth straight match Friday with a 7-0 loss at Florida Atlantic.

The Wildcats (1-5) continue their South Florida swing with a doubleheader Saturday at Miami. Matches are at 12 p.m. and
4 p.m. The trip concludes Sunday against St. Thomas.

The Lady Wildcats (2-4) face Hillsborough CC and St. Thomas Saturday and FIU Sunday.

NCCU Men's Tennis Defeats Loyola 5-2 For First Win of Season  

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – After opening the season with three losses to nationally-ranked ACC opponents, the North Carolina Central University men’s tennis team captured its first win of the season on Friday by a score of 5-2 over Loyola University inside the Wake Forest Tennis Center.

NCCU (1-3) won the top three singles matches in straight sets thanks to Daniil Gerasimov, Kert Kilumets and William East, while Thomas Persico was victorious at the No. 6 spot.

The Eagles captured the doubles point in convincing wins by Persico and East at No. 1 and Gerasimov and Fabrice George at No. 2.

Loyola, a member of the Patriot League, drops its record to 1-2.

NCCU’s next scheduled match is March 7 at Elon University.
