Spartans Cruise to 40-Point Senior Night Win
NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk State women's basketball team made sure to send its senior class out on a high note Monday as the Spartans played the home finale of their most successful season in 13 years.
Senior guard Rae Corbo scored a game-high 28 points to lead four Spartans (11-14, 10-4 MEAC) in double figures as the Spartans cruised to a 95-55 win over Delaware State at Echols Hall, NSU's most lopsided win since its MEAC championship season of 2001-02.
In addition to a season-high 95 points, the Spartans had a season-high 21 assists against a season-low six turnover while shooting 53.5 percent from the floor, their second-best effort of the year. Corbo was 9-of-14 from the floor, 4-of-6 from 3-point range and 6-of-7 from the line. She added four assists, four rebounds and tied her career high with five steals in her final home game.
NSU is on the road for its final two games of the season, next Monday at Howard and on Thursday, March 5 at Hampton.

Norman Propels Savannah State Past Florida A&M
SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah State women’s basketball team rolled to their 10th Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) win on Monday, behind a stellar outing from the Lady Tigers’ sixth woman.
Senior Jasmine Norman poured in 19 points to lead the field, as SSU improved to 15-10 on the season with a 77-55 win over Florida A&M. Since the beginning of the 2013-14 season, SSU is 19-5 in Tiger Arena.
Savannah State returns to the court this Saturday. They travel to Orangeburg, S.C., to take on South Carolina State. In the team’s first meeting this season, SSU edged out a 61-53 win over the Lady Bulldogs in Tiger Arena.
In pregame ceremonies, Ezinne Kalu was honored for reaching the 2,000 career point’s milestone. Kalu became the first basketball player in SSU’s Division I history to eclipse 2,000 career points. She leads the MEAC and is ranked 10th nationally in steals, averaging 3.23 a game. Among active players, she is the third highest NCAA Division I women’s basketball scorer, and leads all active players in NCAA Division I women’s basketball in career steals (355).

Aggie women win seventh straight
GREENSBORO – Enthusiasm, dedication, tact, and the will to win were the tools the North Carolina A&T women’s basketball team used to defeat Morgan State 67-59 in a come-from-behind victory Monday evening at Corbett Sports Center.
The win capped the Aggies’ (16-10, 9-4) seventh straight win while the Bears dropped to 9-18 overall and 6-8 in the MEAC.
Freshman Michelle Fitzgerald made her fifth start of the season and led the Aggies with 13 points. But redshirt junior Adriana Nazario was A&T’s leader as she recorded 12 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. Fitzgerald and Nazario each hit three 3-pointers in the win.
