Corbo's 23 Help NSU Snap 18-Game Skid vs. Coppin

BALTIMORE, Md. -
Rae Corbo poured in a game-high 23 points as Norfolk State rallied in the second half to claim a 67-57 win at Coppin State on Saturday at the Physical Education Complex, breaking the Spartans' 18-game losing streak to the Eagles.

Corbo scored 15 of her points in the second half, helping NSU (10-14, 9-4 MEAC) storm back from an eight-point deficit to top the Eagles (5-19, 4-9). The victory was the Spartans' first over CSU since Jan. 31, 2005, in a game that was played at Echols Hall in Norfolk. Saturday was NSU's first win at CSU since the 2001-02 season - which was also the last season in which the Spartans notched a winning MEAC record, a feat they also clinched on Saturday.

Corbo shot 7-of-16 from the floor, 3-of-5 from 3-point range and made all six of her free throws. In the process, she became the seventh player in school history to surpass 1,500 career points. She now has 1,520 in her career and is just 65 away from becoming the school's all-time leading Division I-era scorer.

The Spartans return home for the final time this year on Monday, when they host Delaware State at 4 p.m. at Echols Hall. Seniors Ebony Brown, Parham, Gray and Corbo will also be honored Monday evening.
