NORFOLK, Va. – North Carolina Central senior Emerie Germ earned the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Softball Player of the Week honors, the conference announced on Monday. Teammate Dominique Wilson was selected Pitcher of the Week, while Morgan State’s Danielle Pitpit earned Rookie of the Week honors.
Germ (C, 5-9, Sr., Canton, Ga.) went 5-for-10 (.500) with two home runs, six runs batted in and three runs scored at the Eagle Challenge. She belted a three-run home run in the third inning against Virginia in helping the Lady Eagles to their first-ever win over an ACC opponent.
Wilson (P, 6-1, So., Mooresville, N.C.) pitched in three games at the Eagle Challenge with an ERA of 5.38. She surrendered four runs (three earned) and scattered seven hits with eight strikeouts in a 5-4 win over Virginia.
Pitpit (2B, 5-1, Fr., Sylmar, Calif.) registered a team-high three hits, including two doubles, in five at-bats and one run scored, in a loss to North Carolina A&T State. Defensively, she finished with four putouts and three assists.

Alejandra Barcenas (NCAT) hit three home runs and drove in 10 at the Aggie Invitational.
Nicole Gazzola (DSU) finished with six hits, including one double, six runs scored and two RBIs at the Eagle Challenge.
Milan Poindexter (HOW) finished 3-for-4, with two runs scored, in a loss to Toledo at the Charleston Southern Tournament.
Claudette Tanabe-Smith (MSU) went 2-for-5, scoring three runs and one RBI, in a loss to North Carolina A&T State.
Vanessa Washington (DSU) recorded four hits, including a home run, at the Eagle Challenge.
