NORFOLK, Va. – Morgan State sophomore Braennan Farrar was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced today. Essence Brown of Howard earned Rookie of the Week honors, while Savannah State’s Tiyonda Davis was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Farrar (G, 5-10, So., St. Louis, Mo.) shot 50-percent (12-of-24) from the floor and 73-percent (8-of-11) from the foul line against Robert Morris and Norfolk State. She poured in a career-high 33 points, on 12-of-23 shooting, with five boards, five assists, three steals and one blocked shot, in a 67-58 victory over Norfolk State.
Brown (G, 5-7, r-Fr., Washington, D.C.) shot 13-of-16 from the field, including 6-of-8 from long range, with 33 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals against La Salle and North Carolina A&T State. She finished with 23 points, on 9-of-12 shooting, including four 3-pointers, six rebounds, two steals and one assist, in a loss to North Carolina A&T State.
Davis (C, 6-4, Jr., Athens, Ga.) averaged 9.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks against Georgia Southern and Alabama State. She registered a season-high 13 boards, five blocks and one steal in a 60-49 win over Alabama State. Offensively, Davis tallied 11 points in the two contests.

Mikah Aldridge (DSU) recorded a career-high 24 points, including 10 free-throws, and three rebounds in a non-conference loss to Fordham.
Nikkei Blackburn (DSU) posted a double-double of 11 rebounds and 10 points, with one steal and one assist, against William & Mary.
Teamber Burke (UMES) finished with 14 points, six boards, two assists and one steal in a loss to Mount Saint Mary’s.
Christina Carter (NCAT) tallied 17 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals in a 64-37 non-conference win over North Greenville.
Victoria Gonzales (HOW) averaged 16.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists against La Salle and North Carolina A&T State.
Kenyata Hendrix (SSU) totaled 26 points, five rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks against Georgia Southern and Alabama State.
Morgan Jones (NCCU) averaged 14.0 points and 3.0 steals against Charlotte and Maryland Eastern Shore.
Kaylah Lupoe (HAM) tied a career-high with 13 rebounds, including eight points, two blocks and one assist against Drexel.
Najai Pollard (DSU) notched a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds, with three blocks, two assists and two steals, against William & Mary.
Bria Ratliff (SCSU) shot 60-percent (9-of-15) from the field to finish with 23 points, five rebounds, three steals and one assist in a 68-62 win over Florida A&M.
Charnise Tyler (NCAT) registered a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds, with two steals, in a 64-37 win over North Greenville.
Alexis Udoji (UMES) averaged 7.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks against Mount Saint Mary’s and North Carolina Central.
