NORFOLK, Va. – North Carolina A&T State’s Aprill McRae was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced today. Najai Pollard, of Delaware State, earned Rookie of the Week honors, while Bethune-Cookman’s Kailyn Williams was named Defensive Player of the Week.
McRae (C, 6-3, Gr., Raleigh, N.C.) shot 58-percent (14-of-24) from the floor and a perfect 5-of-5 from the free-throw line against North Dakota State and Wichita State. She recorded 24 points, on 10-of-13 shooting, with two rebounds, two steals and one blocked shot in the Aggies’ 72-64 win over North Dakota State. Also, McRae added nine points and four boards in 25 minutes of action against Wichita State.
Pollard (F, 5-10, Fr., Richmond, Va.) shot 86-percent (6-of-7) from the field and tied a career-high with six field-goals against Temple. She posted a career-high 15 points, six rebounds, two blocked shots and one assist in 24 minutes of action.
Williams (F, 6-4, Jr., New Orleans, La.) totaled 18 rebounds, 10 blocked shots and one steal against Warner and Georgia State. She recorded 10 rebounds, five blocks and one steal in a 100-28 win over Warner. Offensively, she finished with 12 points, on 5-of-8 shooting.

Olivia Antilla (FAMU) finished with 17 points, on 7-of-14 shooting, with six rebounds, three assists and two blocks, in a 61-58 win over UC Davis.
Siobhan Beslow (NSU) notched a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds, with three steals, two assists and one blocked shot, against Marshall.
Chasimme Brown (B-CU) posted 20 points, seven rebounds and one blocked shot in a 100-28 win over Warner.
Shanikwa Buie (SSU) shot 50-percent (4-of-8) from the floor to finish with 10 points, seven rebounds and one assist against Jacksonville State.
Kendra Cooper (B-CU) finished with 24 points, including four 3-pointers, seven assists and two rebounds, in a 100-28 win over Warner.
Victoria Gonzales (HOW) registered 19 points, seven rebounds, one block and one steal against Old Dominion.
Yazmen Hannah (NSU) averaged 11.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists against William & Mary and Marshall.
Janelle Lane (CSU) finished with 13 points, six boards, three steals, two assists and one block against Auburn.
Kaylah Lupoe (HAM) averaged 8.0 rebounds, 7.5 points and 3.0 blocks against South Carolina and Lehigh.
Taylor-Ashley Shaw (SSU) hauled down a career-high eight rebounds, with six points, two assists and one steal, against Jacksonville State.
Moengaroa Subritzky (UMES) totaled 30 points, eight rebounds, two assists and one steal against UMBC and No. 6 Maryland.
Malia Tate-DeFreitas (HAM) registered 25 points, four rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal, in 40 minutes of play, against Lehigh.
Omaah Tayong (CSU) garnered eight rebounds, seven points, three steals and one blocked shot against Auburn.
Alexis Udoji (UMES) recorded five points, five rebounds, five blocks and two steals in a 55-52 loss to UMBC.
