Morgan State Releases 2016 Men's Tennis Schedule

BALTIMORE, Md. -- Morgan State head coach Matt Townes has released the 2016 men's tennis schedule that includes four home dates.
 
The season begins with the annual VCU 4-1 Invitational in Richmond, Va. on Jan. 15-17. All matches will be played at Thalhimer Tennis Center inside the HDL, Inc. Athletic Village.
 
That month of January closes with a Jan. 31st date against Drexel in Philadelphia, Pa.
 
February will be a challenging month as the Bears hit the road to take on Navy (Feb. 7), then they host James Madison (Feb. 12), and travel to D.C. for a match with George Washington (Feb. 13).
 
Morgan State will travel across town for a matchup with Loyola on March 16 before travelling to the Carolinas for a three-game road trip. The Bears will square-off with Coastal Carolina on March 19 in Conway (S.C.), followed by Francis Marion (March 23) in Florence (S.C.), and will wrap-up March 24 in Greensboro (N.C.) when they take on MEAC opponent North Carolina A&T State.
 
The Bears will conclude the month of March when they play host to St. Joseph's on March 26, followed with a trip to Emmitsburg (Md.) to take on Mount St. Mary's.
 
Morgan State will begin the month of April with a non-conference match at UMBC, before resuming conference action when they host Howard (April 3) and Coppin State (April 5). An April 7th match at Bucknell will be the final non-conference match outside of conference playing during the month of April.
 
The Bears wrap-up the regular season with a "Senior Day" home date against MD-Eastern Shore on April 10, followed by a pair of matches in Virginia with a trip to Norfolk State (April 16) and a regular season finale match at Hampton on April 17.
 
This year's MEAC Championships are set for the weekend of April 21-23 at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center on the campus of Old Dominion University.
 
The opening rounds of the NCAA Championships are set for the weekend of May 13-15 with the final 16 teams headed to Tulsa, Okla., from May 19-23.
