NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State senior Amber Griffin was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced today. Najai Pollard of Delaware State earned Rookie of the Week honors, while Bethune-Cookman’s Kailyn Williams was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Griffin (G, 5-3, Sr., Locust Grove, Ga.) shot 88-percent (8-of-9) from the floor, including a perfect 3-of-3 from the free-throw line in a 66-55 win over Mount Saint Mary’s. She finished with a career-high 21 points, including seven straight points in the second quarter to give the Lady Eagles the lead. Also, she added five rebounds, one assist and one steal in 36 minutes of play.
Pollard (G/F, 5-11, Fr. Richmond, Va.) totaled 29 rebounds, 28 points, three assists, two blocks and two steals in three non-conference games. She hauled down 11 rebounds, nine points, including 3-of-4 from the charity stripe, two assists and one block in a 76-69 win over Appalachian State.
Williams (F, 6-4, Jr., New Orleans, La.) averaged 10.7 rebounds, 2.3 blocks and 1.7 steals against Edward Waters, North Florida and Western Illinois. She recorded 12 boards, two blocks and two steals, in 38 minutes of play, in a 53-49 win over North Florida. Also, she notched 10 points, on 4-of-8 shooting, in the win.

Siobhan Beslow (NSU) notched a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds, with three blocks and three steals against Oakland and Mississippi State.
Amber Bogard (DSU) posted a career-high 29 points, with eight boards, one block and one steal, in a 76-69 win over Appalachian State.
Kendra Cooper (B-CU) tallied 20 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals in a 53-49 win over North Florida.
Tiyonda Davis (SSU) totaled 14 rebounds, eight blocks, six points and three steals against Florida and No. 8 Mississippi State.
Tisha Dixon (NCCU) recorded 15 points, six rebounds, one assist and one block in a loss to Winthrop.
Keyera Eaton (UMES) finished with 10 points, four boards and two steals in a 76-46 win over Cheyney.
Braennan Farrar (MSU) averaged 13.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals against No. 23 Syracuse, Colorado State and Siena.
Victoria Gonzales (HOW) posted a double-double of 24 points and 15 rebounds and was named to the Georgia State Thanksgiving All-Classic Team.
Kenyata Hendrix (SSU) shot 50-percent (6-of-12) from the floor to finish with 13 points, two rebounds, two assists and one block against Florida.
Kaylah Lupoe (HAM) totaled 34 points, 16 rebounds, six blocks, four steals and two assists against Texas and James Madison.
Chelsea Mitchell (MSU) registered nine points, six rebounds and two steals against Colorado State.
Moengaroa Subritzky (UMES) drained four shots from long range to finish with 14 points, four assists and one steal against Cheyney.
Jordan Swails (CSU) grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds, with 11 points, two assists, two blocks and two steals, against Mount Saint Mary’s.
Alexis Udoji (UMES) recorded nine points, seven rebounds, three blocks and two assists in a 76-46 win over Cheyney.
Tykyrah Williams (MSU) averaged 12.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists against No. 23 Syracuse, Colorado State and Siena.
Khaderja Young (FAMU) registered a double-double of 18 points and 11 boards, with three steals and two assists, in a 71-60 win over New Orleans.
