NORFOLK, Va. – Delaware State senior Jasmine Jackson was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball Player of the Week. Maryland Eastern Shore’s Lucia Babic earned Rookie of the Week honors, the conference announced today.
Jackson (OH, 5-8, Sr., South Riding, Va.) posted 52 kills, 30 digs, 16 service aces, eight assists and three blocks against Norfolk State, Hampton and Towson. She registered her first-career triple double of 26 kills, 13 digs and 13 service aces in a 3-2 victory over Hampton.
Babic (OH, 5-10, Fr., Sisak, Croatia) totaled 30 kills, 23 digs, five blocks and three assists against VCU and Norfolk State. She posted a double-double of 16 digs and 14 kills, with three blocks and three assists, in a 3-1 win over VCU.
Other Top Performers:
Angie Darcus (NSU) tallied 11 kills, eight digs and four blocks in a 3-0 win over Delaware State.
Alana Polk (UMES) totaled 12 kills, 11 blocks and two digs against VCU and Norfolk State.
