Ivory Miles helps B-CU at MEAC Southern Division #1
NORFOLK, Va. – Ivory Miles turned in 200-plus games in all four of the Wildcats Traditional matches over the weekend, helping Bethune-Cookman Bowling at the first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Southern Divisional of the 2015-16 season. The two-day event took place in Norfolk, Virginia, and was hosted by Norfolk State.
For the event, Bethune-Cookman turned in an even 4-4 record across eighty games in both Traditional and Baker format, respectively.
During Sunday’s Baker games, B-CU totaled 3,594 pins in its four games.
Bethune-Cookman began Sunday with a 1,015-779 defeat of Hampton, playing in its first MEAC Southern Division after serving the previous years in the Northern Division. The change comes in wake of North Carolina Central cancelling its bowling program at the close of the 2014-15 campaign.
That was followed with a 969-848 setback to host Norfolk State, before the Wildcats bounced back for an 887-819 victory over Florida A&M.
B-CU ended the day with a 1,050-844 defeat at the hands of last year’s MEAC Southern Division leaders, North Carolina A&T State.
Saturday’s Traditional games saw Bethune-Cookman with stake wins over North Carolina A&T State (1,000-947) and Hampton (986-764), respectfully.
Ivory Miles, a junior from Bolingbrook, Illinois, led the Maroon and Gold with a 220 average, followed closely by All-MEAC preseason selection Rebecca Goodwin picking up a 210 average across four games.
Bethune-Cookman will next travel to Montgomery, Alabama for the Hornet Classic, taking place November 20-22.

Maryland Eastern Shore struggle in Bakers on Day Two of MEAC North
TOWSON, Md. – While the Hawks seem to have little trouble in team games, Baker games have been a struggle on the young season with a young team. Today that was evident, as the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) went 2-2 on the final day of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Northern Division meet, falling to 6-2 in league play early in the year.
The spare making hurt the Hawks early as they fell to Morgan State (933-898) and Delaware State (1012-921) to open the day. UMES would rebound to top Coppin State (955-629) and Howard (1067-925).
