MEAC ANNOUNCES VOLLEYBALL WEEKLY HONORS

NORFOLK, Va. – Howard sophomore Khaila Donaldson was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball Player of the Week. Maryland Eastern Shore’s Zuzana Ondruskova earned Rookie of the Week honors, the conference announced today.

Donaldson (OH, 5-11, So., Vernon Hills, Ill.) averaged a double-double of kills and digs in conference matches against Maryland Eastern Shore and Delaware State. She registered 15 kills, 11 digs, two assists and two blocks in a 3-1 win over Delaware State.

Ondruskova (OH, 5-10, Fr., Bilovec, Czech Republic) totaled 24 kills, 14 digs and five assists against La Salle and Howard. She hit 3.42 with 16 kills, three digs and two assists in a three-set sweep of La Salle.

 

Other Top Performers: 

Keana Browne (MSU) hit .833, with 11 kills and three blocks, in a 3-0 win over Norfolk State.

Courtney Dalton (HOW) notched a career-high 14 kills and six blocks in a 3-1 victory over Delaware State.

Angie Darcus (NSU) registered 16 kills, six digs and two assists in a 3-0 loss to Coppin State.

Kelsey Murphy (NCCU) posted 13 kills, nine digs and two blocks in a four-set loss to North Carolina A&T State.

Gabrielle Nathaniel (SSU) recorded 11 digs and six kills in a four-set loss to The Citadel.

Alana Polk (UMES) tallied seven kills, seven blocks and two digs in a 3-1 loss to Howard.

Reeana Richardson (HAM) finished with a career-high 16 kills and eight digs in a 3-0 loss to Morgan State.

Pamela Soriano (FAMU) registered a double-double of 14 kills and 12 digs in a 3-1 win over South Carolina State.

Makayla Tam (SSU) totaled 27 kills, 14 digs, seven assists and two service aces in four matches.
