NORFOLK, Va. – Howard junior Katherine Broussard was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball Player of the Week. Hampton’s Lena Washington earned Rookie of the Week honors, the conference announced today.
Broussard (OH, 5-7, Jr., Harvey, La.) totaled 28 digs, 26 kills and five blocks against Bethune-Cookman and Coppin State. She hit .325 with 22 digs, 18 kills and three blocks in a 3-2 non-conference victory over Bethune-Cookman.
Washington (RS, 5-11, Fr., Washington, D.C.) posted back-to-back double-doubles of kills and digs against Norfolk State and Maryland Eastern Shore. She averaged 10.0 kills, 12.0 digs and 4.0 blocks in the two matches. Washington finished with 10 kills, 10 digs, eight blocks and two assists in a 3-2 win over Norfolk State.

Courtney Dalton (HOW) tied a career-high with 13 kills and four blocks in a three-set win over Coppin State.
Angie Darcus (NSU) registered a career high of 20 kills and nine digs in a five-set loss to Hampton.
Kelsey Murphy (NCCU) notched a match-high 11 kills, three digs and two service aces against Gardner-Webb.
Alana Polk (UMES) recorded eight kills, five blocks and four digs in a 3-0 win over Hampton.
Samantha Polk (CSU) posted a double-double of 15 kills and 10 digs in a five-set win over Morgan State.
Zuzana Ondruskova (UMES) hit .314 with 23 kills, 12 digs and four blocks in wins over Delaware State and Hampton.
Cindy Okpegbue (CSU) finished with 21 kills, six digs, three blocks and two service aces in a 3-2 win over Morgan State.
Hazel Ortiz-Rosado (B-CU) tallied 84 assists, 22 digs, 13 kills, seven blocks and four service aces against Florida Gulf Coast, Howard and American.
Pamela Soriano (FAMU) posted 17 digs and 11 kills in a three-set win over North Carolina A&T State.
