PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – Due to the potential threat of Hurricane Joaquin, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) Volleyball team and Hampton University have agreed to move their scheduled match from Saturday, Oct. 3 to Tuesday, Oct. 6. The contest is scheduled for 6 p.m. inside the William P. Hytche Athletic Center.
Also, Tuesday’s match will serve as the Pink Game as part of the NCAA’s initiative to assist in the fight against breast cancer and UMES’ Squawk for the Cure. In helping to raise awareness, the volleyball team has joined forces with the Side-Out Foundation. Funds raised for Side-Out go toward a clinical trial specifically for patients with stage 4 breast cancer, the most advanced form of the disease and the least funded area of research.
UMES’ match against the Norfolk State Spartans remains on schedule for Friday, Oct. 2 at 6 p.m.
