NORFOLK, Va. – Jordan Swails of Coppin State was chosen as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. Norfolk State’s Kayla Roberts earned Rookie of the Week honors, while Tisha Dixon of North Carolina Central was selected the Defensive Player of the Week.
Swails (F, 5-11, Jr., Upper Marlboro, Md.) set career highs in points and rebounds in a loss against Howard. She shot 9-of-14 (64-percent) from the field to finish with 20 points, nine rebounds and two assists in the 68-66 loss. Swails finished with 16 points and seven rebounds in a 58-56 win over Norfolk State.
Roberts (F, 6-1, Fr., Miami Gardens, Fla.) averaged 10.0 points and 9.5 rebounds in conference games against Coppin State and Florida A&M. She tied a career-high with 17 rebounds, along with 14 points, for her third double-double of the season in a 68-50 win over Florida A&M.
Dixon (F, 6-0, Jr., Kinston, N.C.) averaged 10.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals against Wofford and South Carolina State. She grabbed 13 rebounds, along with 11 points, for her second double-double of the season against Wofford. Offensively, Dixon totaled 20 points.

Malia Tate-DeFreitas (HAM) registered 23 points, six rebounds, five steals and two assists in a non-conference loss to Princeton.

Zuri White (MSU) totaled 12 rebounds, including five defensively, with six points and two steals in a 64-56 win over Delaware State.
Emily Williams (B-CU) recorded 13 points, including three 3-pointers, in a loss to Hampton.
Kailyn Williams (B-CU) collected 10 rebounds, eight on the defensive glass, along with seven blocks in 37 minutes against Hampton.
Jada Young (SSU) finished with nine points and five rebounds in a 95-47 non-conference win over Allen.
