NORFOLK, Va. – Bruce Beckford of North Carolina A&T State was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. Norfolk State’s Jordan Butler earned Rookie of the Week honors, while Delaware State’s Kendall Gray was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
Beckford (F, 6-7, 215, Jr., Silver Spring, Md.) scored 22 points, hitting 60-percent from the field (6-of-10), and was perfect from the free-throw line making all eight of his attempts in a 68-47 win over Savannah State. He recorded a double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds along with four blocks, and three steals.
Butler (F, 6-6, 240, Fr., Hartford, Conn.) totaled 10 rebounds, five points, and three blocks against Princeton and Florida A&M. He had a career-high seven rebounds and was 2-of-4 from the free-throw line against Princeton.
Gray (C, 6-10, 240, Sr., Dover, Del.) grabbed 22 boards, along with two steals and two blocks, in a conference game against Morgan State. Offensively, Gray totaled 28 points, and four assists against Cheyney and Morgan State.

Blake Bozeman (MSU) registered 22 points, four steals and two rebounds in a 73-69 win over Delaware State.
Quintin Brewer (B-CU) tallied 14 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, and three blocks in a 97-71 win over Trinity Baptist.
James Carlton (HOW) posted a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds in a 69-67 win over Coppin State.
RaShid Gaston (NSU) recorded a double-double of 26 points and 16 rebounds in a 75-51 win over Florida A&M.
Dallas Gray (CSU) tallied 16 points and three rebounds in a 71-69 loss to Howard.
Mike Myers (UMES) posted a double-double of 29 points and 16 rebounds, and two assists in a 69-60 loss to New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Jordan Parks (NCCU) tallied 16 points and 14 rebounds in a 76-45 win over South Carolina State.
Jeff Short (NSU) registered 21 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals in a 75-71 win over Florida A&M.
Zech Smith (MSU) notched a double-double of 12 rebounds, 10 points and five blocks, in a 73-69 win over Delaware State.
Brandon Stewart (B-CU) finished with 32 points, nine rebounds and three steals in a 97-71 win over Trinity Baptist.
