ORANGEBURG, S.C. – South Carolina State head women’s basketball coach Doug Robertson, Jr. announced Wednesday the hiring of E. Todd Moore as an assistant coach for the Lady Bulldog program.

“We are pleased to have Coach Moore join the women’s basketball program here at South Carolina State University,” Robertson said. “He brings a great deal of basketball experience with him that will help get us to where we need to be.”

“First and foremost, I would like to thank God because without Him, this opportunity would not have been possible,” Moore said. “I am thankful for and humbled by the opportunity Coach Robertson and South Carolina State University have extended to me to join the women’s basketball staff. I have had the pleasure of watching Coach Robertson lead and mentor young women on and off the court and I am honored to become a part of his basketball family.”

Before coming to SC State, Moore was an assistant women’s basketball coach Savannah State University during the 2011-12 season. Prior to that, he was at the University of Cincinnati from 2009-2011.

Moore then spent one season as an assistant men's coach at Morgan State and two seasons at Howard Community College before becoming head boy's A.A.U. coach in Columbia, Md.

His A.A.U. credentials include nine years of coaching, a pair of Maryland state championships, and two trips to the national tournament in Florida. Moore coached current NBA superstar Carmelo Anthony at the Mount Royal Recreation Center in Baltimore.

Moore also spent time as a men's assistant at Dundalk Community College (1997-2000), Benedict College (2001-02), and Edward Waters College (2002-03). While at Dundalk, Moore helped the team to a 77-20 record, the 1999 Maryland JUCO Conference Championship title, the 2000 Region XX Tournament title and the 2000 NJCAA Division II National Tournament title. In 2000, Dundalk was the runner-up at the MD JUCO Championship.

A 2005 graduate of Edward Waters College, Moore earned a bachelor of business degree in organizational management. Moore lettered in basketball at Edward Waters College in 1983-85 following a stint at the New Mexico Military Academy, where he played prep basketball.
